Fireside Christmas Quilt

Cathy Burkett, owner of In Stitches http://www.institchesquiltshop.com in Rushville, IN
writes,
"I made up the (Fireside Christmas Quilt) tree skirt out of our shop
hop fabric and kitted it up. It looks great! I did make it into a table
topper by appliquéing a circle of the cream in the middle. I used my Slice
to cut holly leaves and appliquéd them on top of the cream circle. The
instructions were great and it was easy to put together!!"
Thanks, Cathy, it's
terrific!

Terry’s Flower Bed made by Nancy Wilhelm, March 2009
Nancy writes: “I gave the quilt to my parents, Clarence and Ramona in Stevens Point, WI. They are in their 80's and have been married nearly 62 years. This quilt warmed their hearts and lifted their spirits. They were immediately reminded of their mothers who raised lots of old fashioned flowers as they grew up on Wisconsin farms. The quilt brought spring to their bedroom and joy to all of us. Diane Meschefske (My Fair Lady Quilting of Neenah, WI) did a beautiful job of finishing off the quilt by stitching a wreath pattern in each block and some waves, etc on the borders with a light green thread. It’s only the second large quilt I've made and I'm thrilled with the results!”

Terry’s Flower Bed made by Marianne Britten, June 2009
Marianne writes: I sent my quilt to a friend in Indiana to be quilted and she did a wonderful job of custom quilting. I'm sure my nephew's girlfriend will absolutely love this quilt. She is slowly losing her sight and can no longer do quilting herself. Also, she has been an avid flower gardener which is why I loved this pattern. And with the custom quilting, I hope she'll be able to feel how it has been finished. |
